History

MERENTIS GmbH has been based in the Hanseatic City of Bremen for more than 20 years and has its roots in the field of professional services. With the constant expansion of the business fields, the portfolio of MERENTIS has also become more extensive, initially by specializing in the areas of information management, archiving and ECM. This was soon followed by individual development, in particular mobile solutions, professional consulting, data protection, information security and the continuous expansion of our internationally active, fully comprehensive Managed Services division, with 24/7 first-to-third-level availability. Most recently, the cloud and modern process automation technologies, such as robotic process automation and artificial intelligence, have become firmly established in our daily work. This way, MERENTIS grew into a successful medium-sized company. The company managed by its owners Volker Strüver and Andree Plat now employs a team of more than 150 people. As a result of the growing success, besides our headquarters in Bremen, further locations have been established in various cities in Germany and Europe. In addition to an outstanding feeling for current topics and trends in the industry, which makes us your partner and your first point of contact for questions concerning topics of digital transformation, MERENTIS distinguishes itself in particular by its customer proximity and continuity. This is demonstrated by numerous long-term projects with renowned clients who have been relying on our work for decades. For this reason, even the customers who have been with us since hour 1 still count on us.

How it all began

It all began in 1996 in a small office in Bremen. Just five employees were working in the Professional Services area for renowned Bremen companies. Even today, the first customers of that time are still part of MERENTIS GmbH.

Long-term customer relations

MERENTIS stands for customer focus and continuity, as numerous long-term projects show: Many companies, including VDE, Bremer Straßenbahn AG as well as AOK Bremen/Bremerhaven and Mercedes-Benz have placed their trust in us for well over a decade. The customer base has grown continuously in various industries such as automotive, energy, mechanical and plant engineering or in the food sector.
But not only our customers remain loyal to us, many of our employees have already celebrated their 20th anniversary.

The expansion of the business field

The company’s field of activity grew rapidly. After the constant expansion of the Professional Services and digital archiving divisions, the company’s portfolio was expanded with the Information Management division. Now, in addition to the mentioned areas, the portfolio of MERENTIS GmbH also includes expert consulting, including in the process, architecture, communication and digitisation areas, a comprehensive range of products and solutions as well as a coordinated managed services and support concept. With the area of research & development MERENTIS establishes modern project methods in addition to innovative topics. The underlying idea is to improve cooperation in projects in order to maximise success in the market, both within and outside the company. Implementation strategies for new digital solutions are as much a part of this as the transparency and distribution of company knowledge.

Standorte

Besides our headquarters in Bremen, we began opening additional locations in 1998 in order to better serve our customers both inside and outside of Germany. In the meantime, we have offices and branches in Munich, Essen, Sindelfingen and Rastatt. In 2019, we established MERENTIS beyond our national borders with a further branch office in Luxembourg, which has mainly emerged from the Managed Services department.

The MERENTIS Group

Information and communication technologies support the majority of all workflows and are therefore responsible for the stability of business processes. In order to round off the consulting services of MERENTIS GmbH, a subsidiary of MERENTIS GmbH, MERENTIS DataSec GmbH, was founded in 2010. The company covers the entire field of information security, IT law and data protection with its specialised personnel. A particular focus is, with over 150 mandates, the legal advice on the EU-DSGVO.

With the MERENTIS Consult GmbH, another subsidiary with headquarters in Munich was founded in 2011. Its main field of activity is based on current processes and workflows in cloud technologies of different providers, offering our customers a holistic service value chain – from consulting and strategy development to support during implementation and startup. The general conditions, whether public or private cloud, do not play a role here, as MERENTIS Consult provides customised solutions tailored to the needs of the respective customer. Individual requirements are taken into account as well as the desire to implement basic business processes with standard applications. Special emphasis is placed on consulting and support of carve-out projects or company start-ups, the introduction and use of Microsoft Office 365, the analysis of IT infrastructure architectures as well as the migration of individual systems to complex IT environments.
